Three friends. One dream.

Picture This:

It’s 2014 it’s been a hot, dry Hawke’s Bay summer and three friends are capping off the day sitting in the still, warm evening air enjoying a glass (or two) of epic local wine.

They’ve heard rumblings that the region’s iconic Thames Street Winery has gone on the market and the idea was sparked – should they buy it?  Haven’t we all fantasized about getting together with a couple of friends and buying a winery?

Well, they actually did it.

One shared dream.

When the ink was dry, the wheels were set in motion. The vision? Craft award-winning wines in the one place that has the trifecta.  A rich medley of soil types, sunny, dry coastal climate and lots of grapes! Add in one-of-a-kind, world-class, innovative wine makers and it sounds pretty unbeatable, right?

This was the beginnings of Ka Tahi.

The One (Ka Tahi)

The spirit of Ka Tahi translates to ‘the one’ in Māori.  As Kiwi’s, we treasure and embrace this language as an integral part our culture.

Our vision was to create shared moments and shape memories, and we are honoured that when you come together around the table with family, celebrate with friends, we are part of your moments of belonging and connection.; and in turn we embrace you as one of us.
